Nov. Spirit Signs
by Robyn R. Johnston
For those of you that are on an accelerated path, I invite you to
take a small detour with me! Of coarse, that means anyone reading
this should be in the above category. We are all on exciting paths
toward
transformation and change, isn’t that why we signed up for
this particular tour?
In the past several months, I have been focusing on the spiritual path,
being able to identify the correct and easiest route to take. Ahhh!
Fellow
travelers. It is time we pause to reflect and take stock of where we
come
in the past few month. This newsletter is dedicated to all the
go-getters
and overachievers! Even if you are a little slow in admitting it!
I don’t tend to look at myself as an over-achiever, although I have
been
called that by others. I also don’t think I work all that hard, but my
body reminds me from time to time that I need to slow down!
I realize that as humans we are subjected to a wide range of
influences,
everything from economics to the celestial energies. However, I believe
that with a little insight and focus, we can be in the drivers seat for
most of the trip.
What am I getting at? Well it seems the closer we get to the changes
and
transformational energy the more we feel the need to achieve, to get
things done and put in motion all the things we know we need to be
doing.
If you are in an unsupportive job right now, you may be feeling
blocked,
frustrated, unhappy and miserable. The same could ring true for those
who
are in relationships that have been outgrown. Its normal and natural to
outgrow careers, relationships, habits, and lifestyles that used to fit
us. While all of us probably welcome changing to smaller sizes of
clothes,
wouldn’t it make sense that we can and should welcome life changes too!
Many of my clients share that they feel there is greater work ahead.
They
want to get things done, but they feel stuck or trapped and aren’t sure
how it get through the mud! It is a common theme of those who
energetically sense a better, brighter future is at hand. We all have
the
ability to feel the power of change, but like it or not, our physical
and
metal bodies sometimes reject that which we know to be good for us.
How do we cope? I would like to suggest the simplest of pleasures. Take
in
the power of a sun rise or a sunset. Allow the glow and magnitude of
the
sun to brighten and lift your well being. In ancient Egypt citizens
celebrated each day as a gift. They believed that the journey of the
sun
mirrored the struggle in daily life. “To the Egyptians this daily
journey
of the sun symbolized the struggle between the powers of Light and Life
and the power of Darkness. This was a struggle that the people felt
going
on within themselves. When the sun reappeared each morning as the
glorious
young Horus, people rejoiced. Evil had been conquered during the long
night. Good had triumphed, and by midday the great god Ra would shine
down
again on the broad fields of Egypt beside the River Nile. The grain
would
ripen and life would go on,” Elizabeth Helfman, Signs and Symbols of
the
Sun.
Taking a brisk walk outdoors, connecting with nature, playing with
children and or pets, researching a favorite topic, investigating a new
hobby, reading inspirational books, and doing nothing but deep
breathing
are also suggestions to assist in bringing in balance.
I think one of the most challenging things for many of us is to live
fully
in the present. While we are all projecting for a better world, and
more
conscious living, we are not fully anchored to the here and now. We
need
grounding activities to assist us in being fully in the present so that
we
are indeed creating real changes, rather than building are “castles in
the
clouds”. Many of us have learned to use the powers of visualization and
manifestation. We live in a time in history that allows us to use our
bodies, minds and spirits as divine tools for attracting what we need.
They key is to find balance between anchoring the present and tying it
into the present. There is a fine line. We know that in order to get
what
we want in the future, we must offer the spirit of gratitude for what
we
have in the present. How would we appreciate it otherwise? This is
definitely a concept that I myself continue to work with. I am so
excited
for the changes to come that I also find myself living in the future.
Yes,
that is why I signed up for this mission. There is much to learn.
So as I sit in the stillness of the day, I offer up my blessings. I am
going to put my map away for a little while. Its time to enjoy the
view.
After all, it isn’t the destination but the journey that counts.”
